GENEVA, Dec 9 Wealthy countries must commit $100 billion on the adaptation of countries most prone to climate change, said on Monday UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
«Developed countries must meet their commitment to double adaptation funding and reach the $100 billion target urgently, without delay,» he said at the International Conference on Assistance to Pakistan in Geneva.
Guterres reiterated his call to reform the global financial architecture, in particular the multilateral development banks.
UN Secretary-General also calls for greater efforts to provide every person around the world with early warning systems for climate catastrophes within five years.
