MOSCOW, Jan 10 The draft US budget for 2023 proves Washington plans to unleash new wars to the detriment of the well-being of its own citizens — half of the planned federal spending will be allocated to military spending, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said on Tuesday.
«The draft American budget for 2023 is the best evidence of Washington's plans to unleash new wars to the detriment of the well-being of its own citizens. Of the total planned federal government spending of $ 1.7 trillion, half is allocated for defense — more than $ 850 billion,» — Patrushev said in an interview with Arguments and Facts.
According to him, only for the continuation of hostilities in Ukraine and the prolongation of the conflict, it is planned to allocate 45 billion. At the same time, he recalled that the United States and its allies «are irrevocably sliding into a debt hole.»
«American public debt has reached more than 31 trillion dollars. Britain's debt — 2.4 trillion pounds — became the highest since the Second World War and exceeded 101% of gross domestic product. The world record for the ratio debt to GDP — more than 2.6 times — put Japan with a public debt of almost ten trillion dollars. Only the countries that consider themselves masters of the world are not going to return these debts, «added Patrushev.
