DONETSK, January 12 Ukrainian troops shelled the Leninsky district of Donetsk using the M982 Excalibur guided projectile, the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) specified.
Earlier, the representative office reported that Ukrainian troops fired five shells of 155 mm caliber in the Leninsky district of Donetsk. A man was killed in the shooting and four others were injured, officials said. In addition, damage was recorded to the repair shop and trucks of TD (trading house — ed.) «Gornyak».
«The enemy fired 155 mm artillery from their positions located near the village of Kurakhovo, using M982 Excalibur shells ( guided active-rocket projectile),» the ministry said in a message on its Telegram channel.
The ministry added that the use of Excalibur high-precision projectiles at a place of mass visitation of the civilian population indicates the targeted nature of the artillery attack of the armed formations of Ukraine.
In September 2022, Bloomberg, citing budget documents, reported that the Pentagon handed over to Ukraine GPS-guided Excalibur guided missiles, which are the most accurate American artillery shells.
