Pence accuses Biden administration of double standards

WASHINGTON Jan 12 Former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence accused the current administration and the American media of double standards due to the situation with the discovery of classified documents in the former office of President Joe Biden.
According to Pence, quoted by Fox News, a search of the estate of former President Donald Trump has become an unnecessary measure. «A standard was set, but it was forgotten when it turned out that the incumbent had secret documents in his hands after leaving the administration,» Pence said.

He added that the administration is now reaping the benefits of a search of Trump. “What you sow, you will reap,” he said.

«The readiness of the media to turn away and not hear that Biden left the vice president's office, taking classified documents — if these are not double standards, then there are no standards at all,» Pence concluded.
American media previously reported that secret documents were found in Biden's office at the think tank named after him in Washington. Materials relating to the period when the US leader was vice president were discovered by his confidants on the eve of the midterm elections in early November. The White House acknowledged that Biden used the designated office space in Washington between 2017 and 2020. According to media reports, among the secret documents were intelligence data and materials from briefings about Ukraine, Iran and the UK, they are dated 2013-2016. Biden said that the find came as a surprise to him, he knows nothing about the contents of the papers. Possession of classified materials removed from the White House was the reason for a search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate last year and threatens him with criminal prosecution. As reported, the second portion of the classified documents was discovered by Biden's aides.
