WASHINGTON, Jan 12 The US State Department has confirmed that it is aware reports of the deportation of a previously released American citizen from Russia, agency spokesman Ned Price said, refusing to provide details.
«We are aware of reports that a US citizen has been deported after being imprisoned in Russia,» he said.
Price added that at the moment he is not ready to comment further on this issue.
Earlier, US prisoner exchange broker Bill Richardson, former governor of New Mexico, confirmed that US citizen Taylor Dudley is returning home after being released from detention in Russia.
Dudley was taken into custody last year while crossing the border of the Kaliningrad region with Poland, after he entered the Kaliningrad region from Poland, where he took part in a music festival, with unclear goals.
