PRAGUE, Jan 14 Former Czech prime minister and dollar billionaire Andrej Babiš and ex-head of the NATO military committee Petr Pavel enter the second round of the Czech presidential elections, none of the other six candidates will be able to catch up with them in the first round, Czech TV reported.
After counting the results of voting at 70% of the polling stations, Babis gains 37.8% of the votes, Pavel — 32.7%. The turnout in the first round was, according to preliminary data, 67.1%.
Presidential elections were held in the republic during Friday and Saturday, according to preliminary data, about 68% of registered voters participated in them, who had the opportunity to give preference to one of eight candidates. If none of the contenders manages to gain more than 50% of the votes in the first round, then the second round will take place on January 27-28.
