Vucic warned Europe about the new Zelensky

MOSCOW, Jan 14 Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti in vain trying to impersonate the new Vladimir Zelensky, and Serbia — for Russia, said President Aleksandar Vucic. He was quoted by Radio and Television of Serbia.
During an inspection of the construction of railways in the north of the country, journalists asked the Serbian leader to comment on Kurti's statement that the borders of Serbia and Kosovo had become the borders of Russia and NATO.

«Vučić replied, that this is another one of the desperate messages when Kurti tries to present himself as a victim, the new Zelensky,» the material says.

He noted that Serbia has its own borders, and they are established by the UN Charter and the resolution 1244 and not by the government of Kosovo.
Tensions remain in Kosovo and Metohija. The police of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo in December last year detained several police officers in the north of the region on suspicion of war crimes during the 1998-1999 conflict and terrorism. Because of this, Kosovo Serbs erected barricades on December 10 and were on duty on the highways, freeing the roads only at the end of the month.

On December 15, Kurti submitted Pristina's application for EU membership to the Czech Republic presiding in the Council of the European Union. In response, the Ministry of Defense of Serbia submitted a request to the command of the NATO KFOR mission for the introduction of a limited contingent of up to a thousand Serbian police and military forces into Kosovo and Metohija in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Some EU countries — Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia and Romania — do not recognize Kosovo.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the UN secretariat to pay attention to the refusal of the Serbs to their demand to send police and army contingents to Kosovo. Serbian police led to the bombing of Yugoslavia (at that time consisting of Serbia and Montenegro) by NATO forces. In March 2004, Kosovo Albanians staged pogroms, which led to the mass resettlement of Serbs from the region and the destruction of numerous monuments of their history and culture. Kosovo-Albanian structures in Pristina on February 17, 2008 unilaterally declared independence from Serbia.
