MOSCOW, Jan 15 Deficit in the energy system of Ukraine increased, limits Electricity consumption has been reduced for all regions, emergency shutdowns are possible, the national energy company Ukrenergo said on Sunday.
The day before, the Ukrainian energy holding DTEK announced the defeat of two thermal power plants, one of which was stopped. The Ministry of Energy of the country confirmed the defeat of infrastructure facilities in a number of regions of the country, including in Kharkiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnitsa and Kyiv regions.
According to the message of Ukrenergo in the telegram channel, the strikes were carried out on «blocks of thermal power plants (TPPs)». «Due to damage to equipment, they stopped or reduced electricity generation, and the deficit increased in the energy system. This made it necessary to slightly reduce consumption limits, proportionally for all areas. Restrictions are in effect throughout the day,» the company said in a statement.
According to her information, in case of exceeding the limits, emergency power outages will be applied.
Strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure of the RF Armed Forces began on October 10 — two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, the Ukrainian special services stand. The strikes are carried out on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout the country. After the strikes on November 15, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that almost half of the country's energy system was disabled. In December, Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is now impossible to completely restore the energy system of Ukraine.
