
MOSCOW, Jan 17 to the diplomatic mission in the republic for the transportation of the bodies of four Russians killed in a plane crash, the diplomatic missions are in contact on this issue, said the Ambassador of Nepal to the Russian Federation Milan Raj Tuladhar.
Turboprop passenger aircraft ATR 72 of Yeti Airlines, flying from Kathmandu, crashed on Sunday between the old and new airport in Pokhara. According to the airline, there were 68 passengers and four crew members on board. According to a representative of the Pemba Sherpa airline, all 72 people on board were killed, including four Russians.
«I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of those who died here in Russia. At the moment I am in touch with the Russian Ambassador, Mr. Novikov in Kathmandu. I told him that I and our embassy would like to help as needed,» the ambassador said.
He added that at the moment he is waiting for details from Kathmandu about the families of the victims.
«At the same time, let me also clarify that this is a very unfortunate accident that happened for the first time after so many years of domestic flights, and was the first among several dozen ATR-72 aircraft currently operating in Nepal that crashed,» Tuladhar explained.
Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Nepal reported that the body of one Russian woman who died in the crash of the ATR 72 plane in Nepal was identified, the identification of the rest continues. The diplomatic mission added that they are considering options for the removal of the bodies of those killed in the crash in contact with their families.
