MOSCOW, Jan 17 Ukraine plans to purchase energy equipment worth more than 100 million euros, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Tuesday.
«In the energy industry, we feel the constant support of foreign friends and our partners. In particular, we plan to purchase energy equipment worth more than 100 million euros with the funds of the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine,» Shmygal wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to the Prime Minister, for the last time Azerbaijan handed over 45 backup power plants to Ukraine, and Japan — powerful generators for the Chernihiv region.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kyiv had agreed to supply a new batch of equipment for the country's energy system in the form of 1,800 transformers and more than 7,000 generators of various capacities. He also said that 12 countries will supply energy equipment to restore damaged infrastructure. According to him, among the equipment that Ukraine receives are generators of various types, heat guns.
Strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure of the RF Armed Forces began on October 10 — two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, the Ukrainian special services stand. The strikes are carried out on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout the country. After the strikes on November 15, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that almost half of the country's energy system was disabled. In December, Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is now impossible to completely restore the energy system of Ukraine.
