The government of Kazakhstan has tightened the rules for the entry and stay of foreigners in the republic. The document, approved by the country's Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, is published on the website of legal acts.
According to the new rules, which will come into force on January 27, citizens of EAEU it will be possible to stay in the republic for no more than 90 days within six months. Previously, for Russians in Kazakhstan, there was a “visaran” — a rule according to which, in order to renew the period of legal stay in the country, it is enough to cross its border once every three months.
Kazakhstan has become one of the most popular destinations for emigration of Russian citizens after the announcement of mobilization. According to the FSB border service, in the third quarter of 2022, almost 1.3 million Russians left there.
