PRAGUE, Jan 21 According to police, «several hundred people» began on Wenceslas Square in the center of Prague in sub-zero weather, under snow and rain, Czech Radio reported.
«In addition to national banners, some participants of the rally brought flags of the Communist Party, among the speakers were ex-premier and ex-leader of the Social Democrats Jiri Paroubek and MEP from the Communists Katerzyna Konechna,» the report says.
The speakers criticized the policy of the government, which, in their opinion, is not coping with the solution of current economic problems, as well as the candidate for the presidency of the republic, army general in the reserve, Petr Pavel, who, according to the speakers, supports the policy of the Cabinet. From time to time those present shout out the slogans «Government resign» and «We want peace!»
According to police spokesman Yan Rybansky, «several hundred people» are participating in the rally, no violations of order have been recorded.
