PARIS, Jan 20 The Netherlands will supply two SAM launchers to Ukraine Patriot and missiles, Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren said.
«The Netherlands is participating in a cooperation project with the US and Germany to supply Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems, including ammunition, training and maintenance parts … This means that the Netherlands will supply (Ukraine) with two launchers and a number of missiles,» — says Ollongren's letter to the Dutch House of Representatives (lower house of parliament).
Earlier, the Dutch authorities announced that the Netherlands would consider the possibility of supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets. In addition, they do not exclude the possibility of paying for the delivery of German Leopard tanks for Kyiv.
Earlier, Russia sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
