DONETSK, Jan 24 Acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin compared the non-aggression pact proposed by Kyiv to Minsk, which was announced by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, with the Minsk agreements, which were used to pump Ukraine with weapons.
«Kyiv is trying to pass off a proposal to conclude a non-aggression pact with Belarus as peacefulness. But we have the example of the Minsk agreements. The whole world was convinced after the revelations of famous politicians — (ex-President of France Francois) Hollande and (ex-German Chancellor Angela) Merkel that the agreements were concluded not with the aim of fulfilling them, but in order to buy time and pump weapons into Ukraine,» Pushilin wrote in his Telegram channel.
On Tuesday, Lukashenka said that Kyiv offered Minsk to conclude a non-aggression pact so that Belarusian troops would not move to Ukraine. However, the Ukrainian side did not confirm the fact of such a proposal, limiting itself to statements about the absence of aggressive intentions against Belarus.
Earlier, ex-French President Francois Hollande agreed with Angela Merkel (who served as Chancellor of Germany from 2005 to 2021) that the Minsk agreements gave the Kyiv regime time to become stronger. Before that, Merkel said that «the 2014 Minsk agreement was an attempt to give Ukraine time» to become stronger.
