MOSCOW, Jan 27 Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, in which he stated that the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was used by the enemies of the two countries, and urged that this incident not negatively affect relations between the two states.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also suggested to Azerbaijan that the security services of the two countries cooperate in investigating the attack. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bayramov welcomed the idea.
«Amir Abdollahian, condemning this incident, pointed to the use by the enemies of the two countries of today's incident, this incident cannot be allowed to have a negative impact on relations between the two countries,» the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
The head of the Iranian department also expressed condolences to Baku over the death of the diplomat and regret over what happened.
