MOSCOW, Jan 28 The City of David, the oldest inhabited area in Jerusalem, was tweeted by the Israeli police.
«The preliminary report is a suspected terrorist attack in Jerusalem. A message has just been received about a shooting in the City of David in Jerusalem,» the department specified.
The wounded father and son were evacuated in moderate condition.
The police are working at the scene.
br>»An identity check of the neutralized and wounded terrorist showed that he was a 13-year-old resident of East Jerusalem,» the police added.
A pistol was confiscated from the detainee.
Another major terrorist attack took place in Jerusalem the night before. An Arab resident of the eastern part of the city opened fire at a synagogue, killing seven people and injuring three others.
Police said today that 42 people were detained in connection with the attack.
The attack followed the killing of 10 Palestinians by the Israeli military during raid in the West Bank city of Jenin. Thus, the official representative of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Hazem Kasem, called the terrorist attack in Jerusalem a «reaction» to the actions of the IDF.
