MOSCOW, Jan 29 Tens of thousands of opponents of the judicial reform of the Prime Minister's government Benjamin Netanyahu held another protest in Tel Aviv on Saturday, the Jerusalem Post reports.
It was the fourth rally since the announcement of the judicial reform plan. More than 130,000 people attended the previous mass rally in Tel Aviv a week ago, according to Israeli police data.
According to the newspaper, many protests began with a minute of silence in memory of those killed in a terrorist attack in a synagogue in East Jerusalem.
According to Haaretz, protests throughout Israel took around 60,000 people took part.
On January 4, newly appointed Justice Minister Yariv Levin announced a reform plan that would strip the Israeli Supreme Court of certain powers and also give parliamentarians the right to challenge its decisions.
The government, led by Netanyahu, took the oath at the end December 2022. Previously, Netanyahu served as Prime Minister of Israel in 1996-1999 and 2009-2021.
