WASHINGTON, Jan 31 US sends first 60 military Bradley infantry vehicles, US Transportation Command said.
A vessel of the Norwegian-Swedish company Wallenius Wilhelmsen was chartered to transport armored vehicles, which left the port of Charleston, South Carolina last week.
«US Transportation Command is transporting the first batch of Bradley IFVs to Ukraine as part of a $2.85 billion military assistance agreement announced earlier this year,» a press release said.
In addition to Bradley, the Americans promised Kyiv Stryker armored personnel carriers and Abrams tanks.
Earlier, Russia sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West would have a negative effect.
