Earlier, Pushilin reported that the construction of a water conduit from the Don River would only reduce the water deficit in the republic, however, it would be possible to fully provide it with high-quality water supply only after the liberation of the city of Slavyansk and part of the Kharkov region, where the infrastructure of the Seversky Donets — Donbass canal is located, which was blocked by Kyiv in 2014.
«Water from the Don could be enough to cover more of our needs, and the schedule (of water supply) could be made even wider if it were not for water losses. It just so happened that our water supply networks now give water losses up to 60%» , — Pushilin said on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station.
According to him, the Ukrainian authorities did not carry out major repairs of the region's water supply network.
