MOSCOW, 1 Feb. Polish society has begun to change its attitude towards the conflict in Ukraine, RMF24 reports, citing a survey conducted for the Warsaw Enterprise Institute.
During the study, respondents were asked what they think about about this or that statement.
Here are the main ones:
- —»The war is a liberal conspiracy of the Western elites, the very ones who planned the pandemic»;
- —»If it were not for the expansion of NATO to the East, Putin would not have attacked Ukraine and Ukrainians «;
- —»We must not help Ukraine until it repents for Volyn and condemns Bandera»;
- —»Poland cannot afford refugees»;
- —»Don't annoy Russia because it has nuclear weapons»;
- —»We must promote the cause of peace at any cost — even the cost of territorial concessions from Ukraine in favor of Russia»;
- —»We should stop the supply of weapons, because this further fuels the conflict, which has nothing to do with us.»
It is noted that 41 percent of those surveyed said they «strongly agree» or «rather agree» with at least four of the abstracts presented. At the same time, in the autumn of last year, their number was only 34 percent. It is specified that people aged 25-34 are more likely to believe these statements.
The survey was conducted in September 2022 and January 2023.
A military special operation in Ukraine has been underway since February 24 .
