The Voronezh garrison military court sentenced two contractors, Nikita Kudryashov and Yegor Evdokimov, to nine months' restriction in military service. They were found guilty of leaving the military unit without permission (Part 3 of Article 337 of the Criminal Code). Information about this is published on the website of the court, the decision was made on December 15.
The punishment assumes that during this period contract soldiers will not be able to get a promotion, and 15% of their income will be withheld monthly in favor of the state, also these nine months will not be counted towards length of service.
According to investigators, on July 21, Kudryashev and Evdokimov arbitrarily left their place of service, a point of temporary deployment of a unit in the Belgorod Region, and went through the city of Valuyki to Voronezh in order to “spend time at your discretion.» On August 19, they independently came to the military commandant's office and told about what had happened.

According to Mediazona, from January to early December, the courts received 948 cases of arbitrarily leaving a unit. Against the background of the war, there are more cases than in 2021. Especially noticeable growth begins in the summer. Sentences in similar cases were recently handed down in the Omsk Region, Kabardino-Balkaria, the Moscow Region, the Perm and Kamchatka Territories.
