The South-Sakhalinsk garrison military court sentenced serviceman Vyacheslav Rushkov to three years probation in the case of unauthorized abandonment of his place of service (parts 3 and 4 of article 337 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the press service of the court.
According to the case file, Rushkov, while on a business trip, decided to take a break and «temporarily evade military service and perform special tasks in the NVO zone.» On July 4, he left the «temporary detention center of the Western Military District» for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, where he «spent time at his own discretion.»
According to the court, on September 10 Rushkov was found by the police. On the same day, the military was delivered to the military unit by «his immediate superior.» However, two days later, Rushkov again did not appear at the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk military unit «without good reason.» In the commandant's office, he «declared himself» only on October 12.
Also, Judge Andrei Lutskovich appointed Rushkov a year of probation. “When sentencing, the court took into account mitigating circumstances, as well as Rushkov’s desire to continue participating in a special military operation,” the court stressed.
The Teleinform agency, citing the same press release, wrote that Rushkov left the unit in the Belorodsk region and went first to the city of Lysva in the Perm Territory, then to Sakhalin. On August 31, an ambulance delivered a serviceman to the Sakhalin Regional Hospital with a diagnosis of acute alcohol intoxication. Now there is no such information in the court's message, the text of the verdict has not been published on its website.
