WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 Republican Member of the U.S. House of Representatives party Chris Stewart introduced a bill to ban users under 16 from accessing social networks in order to protect their mental health.
«The children of our nation are going through a mental health crisis. Therefore, I introduced a bill to ban access to social media for children under 16,» the politician said in a statement posted on Twitter.
Stuart added that there has never been such a «depressed, anxious and suicidal» generation.
«Our responsibility is to protect them from the root of the problem: social media,» he concluded.
