SIMFEROPOL, February 4 Head of Committee on Legislation of the Crimean Parliament Sergey Trofimov said that an attempt by the Kyiv authorities to «recapture Crimea» would lead to a terrible military response for the Ukrainian side.
Advisor to the head of the office of Vladimir Zelensky Mikhail Podolyak said earlier that Kyiv is going to «recapture Crimea with a conventional offensive (conventional) and in a very short time.» In turn, the acting head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko announced the beginning of the formation of assault brigades from the military, police and border guards to seize the Crimea and Donbass.
«Any attempt by the Ukrainian army to attack will lead from our side to a terrible military response for them, from which they will not be able to recover,» Trofimov said.
According to him, the Crimea is reliably protected and has sacred significance for Russia.
From February 24, 2022, Russia has been conducting a military special operation in Ukraine, its ultimate goal, as Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, is the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee Russia's security.
After the start of the special operation, the Kyiv authorities have repeatedly announced plans to launch an offensive operation in the Crimea, including against the backdrop of reports of new deliveries of Western weapons. In Crimea, such attempts were called suicidal, noting that it was simply impossible to seize part of the territory from a powerful nuclear power.
