MOSCOW, 5 Feb. The head of the board of the national energy company Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, said that the situation with electricity in Odessa and the Odessa region should improve significantly by the end of the next working week.
On Saturday, the Ukrainian energy holding DTEK reported that due to the accident at the substation Odessa was completely de-energized, part of the Odessa region also remained without electricity. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said on Sunday that about 40% of consumers in Odessa are left without power supply, powerful generators have been additionally sent to the city. We focused on one of them, which will allow us to quickly restore more or less normal power supply to the city and the Odessa region. According to our forecasts, by the end of the next working week we must complete this work and at the end of the working week the situation should improve significantly,» Kudritsky said at a briefing.
According to him, now in Odessa and the Odessa region nearly 300,000 subscribers have “very limited power supply.” He noted that critical infrastructure is being actively reconnected to autonomous power sources, which will improve power outage schedules. Odessa city council in its telegram channel reported that due to the situation with the light, «holidays were announced in educational institutions» in Odessa on Monday and Tuesday. «In all face-to-face kindergartens, duty groups will work,» the message says.
