MOSCOW, Feb 5 EU threatens Georgia with sanctions over restoration of flights with Russia, while Tbilisi is not even a member of the European Union, this is exactly what the loss of sovereignty and geopolitical slavery looks like, said Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, noting that Georgia fell into the European «mousetrap» along with Moldova and Ukraine.

Georgia got there with its European aspirations. Together with Moldova and Ukraine,» — he wrote in his telegram channel.
The head of the Federation Council committee on international affairs, Grigory Karasin, wrote in his telegram channel that such threats from the European Union are «new rules of the game in international affairs, regardless of history, geography and the states' own preferences.»

Earlier, EU Foreign Service Spokesperson Peter Stano warned Georgia about the consequences of resuming direct flights to Russia.
