The former coordinator of Alexei Navalny's headquarters in Arkhangelsk, Andrey Borovikov, who was convicted for reposting the Rammstein video, was transferred to strict conditions of detention in a colony. This was reported by 29.RU with reference to lawyer Dmitry Deren.
As the lawyer specified, restrictions were imposed on the oppositionist for three months. Borovikov, among other things, will not be able to move around the colony, walk for more than three hours with good behavior, and spend more than 7,200 rubles. Also, the number of visits and transfers will be reduced to the prisoner.
“Since Andrei has less time left than he has already served, it is possible that the administration will somehow interfere with the exercise of the rights that he has, referring to the fact that that he is under strict conditions of detention: «you wait, everything will be provided in the future,» Deren added.
Borovikov was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in the case of distributing pornography via the Internet (clause “b” of part 3 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code) in April 2021. In July, the term was reduced by three months due to the birth of a child. The reason for the case was the clip of the song Pussy, which the oppositionist added to the saved videos on VKontakte in 2014.
During his imprisonment, the ex-head of Navalny's headquarters was repeatedly sent to the punishment cell. As reasons, the administration of the colony called the fact that Borovikov took bread from the dining room, and he was also sent to the isolation ward because of the shower gel found in things, which was not in the inventory of items.
The oppositionist should be released in the second half of May this year.
