
BUENOS AIRES, Feb 7 Forty people died as a result mudflows in the Arequipa region in southern Peru, radio RPP reported.
«The number of dead, carried away by mudflows, has grown to 40,» the media notes.
The disaster occurred the day before and repeated on Monday.
Mudflows destroyed 200 small houses, causing damage to 2,000 families.
Victims are waiting for help from the government.
