MOSCOW, Feb. 9 None of the European leaders have yet announced his intention to transfer aircraft to Ukraine, Bloomberg reports citing an EU official.
Earlier, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, at a meeting in Brussels with Zelensky, called on EU countries to provide Ukraine with long-range missile systems and fighter jets.
«European leaders made it clear Volodymyr Zelensky that they are ready to provide more military assistance to Ukraine, but so far no one has pledged to provide fighter jets,» the agency said. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
