A court in the Belgorod region sentenced a 15-year-old teenager to six and a half years in prison in the case of preparing a shooting in a school in Stary Oskol. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
The young man was found guilty of preparing a terrorist act (part 1 of article 30; paragraph «b» of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code) and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 articles 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
According to investigators, in September 2021, the teenager began to take an interest in the Columbine organization and became «its active supporter.» According to the department, a 15-year-old resident of Stary Oskol prepared a scenario for an attack on one of the schools in September 2022.
“I took measures to find weapons and means of committing a crime for this purpose, and also tried to involve my classmates in committing illegal actions,” the press release says. As a result, the teacher found out about the student’s plans and informed the security forces about it.
In February 2022, the Supreme Court recognized Columbine as a terrorist movement.
