NEW DELHI, Feb 12 Special Representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov, director of the second department of Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, intends to discuss with the Afghan authorities a ban on women studying.
«The latest move by the Taliban* authorities to deprive women of the opportunity to study at universities is meaningless. I cannot understand this. I want to speak with the leadership of the Taliban* and share our dismay and disappointment,» Kabulov told The Week. .

Earlier, Afghan media reported that the Ministry of Higher Education in the Taliban government ordered to suspend the education of female students in private and public universities in Afghanistan. The Minister of Higher Education of Afghanistan said that the education of girls in secular universities violates the laws of Islam and is contrary to Islamic traditions.

The Taliban* also ordered all local and international non-governmental organizations in Afghanistan to suspend the work of female employees. After that, a number of international non-governmental organizations suspended their work in Afghanistan.
