WASHINGTON Feb 14 In Boston, a jury found a citizen Russia Vladislav Klyushin guilty of cybercrime, his lawyer Maxim Nemtsev said.
«We are disappointed, but we respect the jury's verdict. We intend to appeal various issues, including the admissibility of biased statistical evidence,» the lawyer said.
Verdict announced scheduled for May 4, he added.
The owner of the M 13 company, Vladislav Klyushin, was arrested in Switzerland at the request of the United States on March 21, 2021. The American authorities accuse him of economic crimes related to trading in securities.
At the same time, in September last year, the lawyers of the Russian found errors in the testimony of FBI agent BJ Kang. According to the revealed information, he unreasonably obtained a search warrant for Klyushin, relying only on a possible similarity with the transactions of another defendant in the case. The defense asked to exclude the insider trading clauses from the charges, but the court eventually granted only part of the petitions.
The Russian does not admit his guilt.
