MOSCOW, March 6 Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that the mobilization plan in country is not yet completed.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian command was tasked with forming personnel reserves. Advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense Yuriy Sak did not rule out that more people would be mobilized into the Ukrainian troops.
«The mobilization plan, which has been announced since the parliament implemented the presidential decree on the introduction of martial law, has not even been completed yet,» Reznikov said in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of Liga.net.
Martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine were announced with the start of Russia's special operation. Their terms were repeatedly extended by the Ukrainian parliament. In February, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days, until May 19.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on 24 February. President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out «demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine», to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for «bloody crimes against civilians» in Donbass.
