
MOSCOW, March 7 British Ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert is in Vladivostok to commemorate the soldiers of the British Army who died in the First World War.
The embassy's Facebook* account posted photos of the ambassador at Vladivostok airport, accompanied by the following message: «British Ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert is in Vladivostok to commemorate British and Commonwealth soldiers killed in World War I, and also meet with the local community.» No explanations are given in the post of the diplomatic mission.
GTRK «Vladivostok» on Tuesday published a video of the meeting Bronnert at the airport in Vladivostok. According to the channel, the ambassador said that she «came to see the city and visit the cemetery.» The local publication «City V» reported that Bronnert intends to visit the graves of the White Czechs. At the Marine Cemetery in Vladivostok there is a cemetery of Czechoslovak legionnaires.
The representative office of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Vladivostok said that «we are aware that the visit should take place these days, but we are engaged in, if the official component is expected — a meeting. According to our information, there were no appeals. As far as we know, no official meetings are planned.» The government of Primorye also confirmed that there are no plans to meet with the authorities of the region with the British ambassador.
