MOSCOW, Mar 6 Former Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Ivan Bakanov is under investigation, the details of which were not disclosed, the Ukrainian publication Novoe Vremya said on Monday, citing its own sources in the office of Vladimir Zelensky.
«»Ivan Bakanov, dismissed from the post of head of the SBU in July last year, is now under investigation … The president's office was horrified by the way Bakanov led. In many areas, it was a complete failure,» the publication says.
They clarified that Bakanov appears in criminal cases conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine, they are connected with the circumstances of Kiev's loss of control over a number of territories.
In early February, Ukrayinska Pravda reported that the Security Service of Ukraine had conducted a check on the former head of the department, Ivan Bakanov.
In July last year, Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the dismissal of Bakanov, the parliament voted for his resignation. The reasons for the dismissal were not named.
