MOSCOW, Mar 9 is getting more and more difficult, writes the Financial Times newspaper.
«The enemy is attacking from all sides. We receive supplies. But the situation is getting more and more complicated every day,» one of the Ukrainian soldiers who is in Artemovsk is quoted as saying.
Artemivsk is located in the Kyiv-controlled part of the DPR, north of the large city of Gorlovka, and is an important transport hub for supplying the Ukrainian group of troops in the Donbass.
Founder of the Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin announced on Wednesday Russian control over the entire eastern part of Artemovsk.
In early March, Prigozhin reported that the fighters of the group had practically surrounded Artemovsk, and Yan Gagin, adviser to the acting head of the DPR, also stated this on Monday. On Saturday, two Ukrainian security officials immediately reported that their units had received an order to leave Artemivsk — this is the commander with the call sign «Magyar» and the ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko, now the commander of a platoon of attack drones. Earlier, Sergei Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, said that the situation in Artemivsk was critical.
