CHISINAU, March 11 Ukrainian border guards are digging trenches on the border with Moldova, the press said — Officer of the Border Police of Moldova Raisa Novitski.
«Colleagues from the State Border Service of Ukraine reported that such work is carried out in order to prevent illegal crossing of the state border by people, as well as smuggling from Ukraine to Moldova,» she said.
According to her, similar ditches can be seen on the territory of Ukraine, near checkpoints and where roads pass close to the state border.
Photos published in Moldovan Telegram channels also testify to this. Among the authors of such publications was a member of parliament from the Socialist Party of Moldova Bogdan Tsyrdea.
In late February, the Russian Ministry of Defense warned of the threat of an invasion by the Ukrainian army in Transnistria. According to the department, the pretext should be a staging of the offensive of Russian troops. Chisinau denied the presence of direct threats to the country's security.
