The American automaker is preparing a new generation of three-row crossover, and fresh spy photos allow us to see the main features of its appearance.
The Traverse model was first introduced in early 2008 at the Chicago Auto Show, although this name was used by the company back in 2000 — it was then that the Traverse Concept, which was peculiar in design, was shown, but it has nothing to do with the serial crossover that appeared later. Today, the second generation of a large SUV is on the conveyor, the production of which began in 2017. Three years later, the premiere of a restyled version took place, and now the company is preparing a new generation of the popular model, and test samples have already come across to photo spies several times.
Traverse
In general, the novelty is very similar to the current generation, while there are a number of noticeable differences. First of all, the crossover will become more compact due to the shorter wheelbase. The front part will be made more angular, now fashionable “two-story” optics with stripes of dimensions on top and main headlight units built into the bumper will appear here. On the side, the most interesting element will be the newly designed C-pillars of the body (located behind the rear doors). The crossover will get new lights, we have depicted one of the possible options for graphics of LED lights. Also on the test prototypes, you can see 4 square pipes of the exhaust system, evoking associations with the latest generation Corvette sports car.
technical features of the future novelty are not yet available. The current Traverse is built on the transverse-engined C1XX platform, which is also used by the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 crossovers. It is equipped with a single naturally aspirated V6 3.6 petrol with a capacity of 318 hp, a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. It is quite possible that the new generation, in line with current trends, will switch to smaller turbo engines that allow more power to be produced with less fuel consumption.

The premiere of the new Chevrolet Traverse may take place during this year.
By the way, the current generation of the crossover was officially sold in Russia, and we managed to compare it with the Ford Explorer crossover and the older Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.
