Four participants of the rally against mobilization in Makhachkala were released from the pre-trial detention center

Four participants in the September action against mobilization in Dagestan, accused of beating a security official, were released from the pre-trial detention center. This is reported by OVD-Info with reference to lawyer Natella Agayeva.

In addition, the Dagestanis have reclassified the accusation article. Initially, Sultan Akhmedkhanov, Murad Aligadzhiev, Magomed Ubaidulaev and Biymurat Ibragimov were accused of using life-threatening violence against a police officer (Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code) — they were threatened with up to ten years in prison.

Now they are charged with an article on the intentional infliction of minor bodily harm out of hooligan motives (paragraph «a» of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code), which provides for a punishment of up to two years in prison.

According to the investigation, four Dagestanis were involved in beating of police lieutenant S. Sarukhanov. The security officer was present at the action against mobilization in Makhachkala on September 26, he was dressed in civilian clothes.

According to the defendants, during the rally they heard the screams of a girl who told about the theft of her phone. They suspected Sarukhonov of theft and, as follows from the case file, inflicted “multiple punches and kicks on various parts of the body.”

The accusation was mitigated due to the fact that Akhmedkhanov, Aligadzhiev, Ubaidulaev and Ibragimov they didn't know that there was a security officer in front of them. At the same time, the investigation initially reported that Sarukhanov introduced himself as a police officer and showed them his ID. «photo» data-slate-custom=»{«imgSrc»:»https://s3.zona.media/i/da593ffce487afb1dcbb1321003d5a8a»,»alt»:»"}» alt=»1″/
