MOSCOW, 12 Mar. The Nureyev Seasons international cultural project has started in Moscow, Ufa and Kazan. It is dedicated to the legendary artist and choreographer Rudolf Nureyev. 
The «Seasons» are not held for the first time, but in 2023, on the 85th anniversary of the dancer's birth, special events are expected. The central event in all cities will be the premieres of documentaries about Nureyev, filmed by the film company «Own Handwriting» in 2022 and 2023.

"Premier films reveal exclusive themes and facts from the dancer's life. Tape "Rudolf Nureyev. Alien Island» talks about the life and work of a dancer in Italy. He owned the small Italian archipelago of Li Galli, hence the film's title. He is remembered by the prima ballerina Carla Fracci, the author of the famous tombstone on the grave of Nureyev Ezio Frigerio, who danced with Rudolf Liliana Cosi and Anna Maria Prina, Luigi Pignotti, who worked as a dancer’s manager for 26 years,” says the head of the Nureyev Seasons project, director of the film company "Your handwriting" Alfiya Chebotareva.
The film «Rudolf Nureyev. The Last Dance» tells about the last role of the dancer — the image of an Angel.

"All his life Nureyev danced Lucifers, demons, played bad guys. But towards the end of his life, his character became softer. The third film — «Rudolf Nureyev. Return» — is supplemented by an exhibition of twenty archival photos collected in Ufa, St. Petersburg and Kazan.

«The focus of the project is the return. We are returning the name of Rudolf Nureyev to our homeland, with the help of our films we talk about his life, reveal the topic of why he decided to stay abroad», — says Chebotareva.
Moscow
The organizers made a special discovery for the capital's pensioners: the project will start in all Moscow Longevity Centers. On March 12, a meeting with Rudolf Nureyev's girlfriend Lyubov Myasnikova and his classmate, People's Artist of the USSR Gabriela Komleva will take place at the TsMD on Sokol. Until March 31, in all Moscow Longevity Centers, visitors will be able to watch ten documentaries and feature films about Nureyev.
“Rudolph was the frontier between East and West,” Komleva notes. “For three years he was this frontier, he received our and foreign knowledge. And it turned out such an unusual combination of energy and power that no one else had.” 
The fourteenth of March in MMT «Helikon-Opera»under the direction of Dmitry Bertman, the audience will be waiting for the grand opening of the project, which will be held in the style of the Venice Carnival. The program includes a screening of the film «Venice, Carnival, Love», filmed in 1982 by the Italian film director Mario Lanfranchi, where Nureyev performed his last film role, and the photo exhibition of the same name by Arici Graziano. The film was considered lost for many years — the organizers of the «Nureyev Seasons» found, restored and translated the picture into Russian.
The Moscow cycle will end on March 29 at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky Lane. Here guests will see the photo exhibition «Rudolf Nureyev. Return».
Ufa
On March 15 at the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatrethe play «The Crane Song» will take place — this production was a turning point in the fate of Rudolf Nureyev. Ufa residents will be the first to see the collection of archival photos; the exhibition will open on March 17, the dancer's birthday.
Film screenings will be held from 18 to 21 March at the local cinema Rodina». 
Guests and residents of the city will be able to visit the only museum of Nureyev artifacts, where more than 200 items are stored.
Kazan
From March 23 to March 27, the project will be held in the capital of Tatarstan. For five days at the Mir» cinema the audience will be treated to a program of free screenings of films about Rudolf Nureyev.
At all venues, there will be meetings with Russian artists who knew the artist well and friends, master classes from colleagues and students of Nureyev for students of choreographic schools and young ballet dancers, presentations of books about him. 
"Our project has a great educational and educational role, primarily for young people as the main main target audience of the project. The charismatic image of Nureyev, the first pop dance icon in the world, still arouses great interest to this day,» notes Alfiya Chebotareva.
Each of the three participating cities is associated with Nureyev's biography: he lived in Moscow for a short time with family in the prewar years and won the first victory in the competition at the Bolshoi Theater. In Ufa, he spent his childhood, youth, his dream of dancing was born and his formation as a ballet dancer took place. Nureyev was connected with Kazan by the origin of his mother, who was born in Tatarstan, and his collaboration in the last years of his life with the local State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Musa Jalil, where Nureyev acted as a conductor in 1992.
