According to preliminary data, the compact model with the now fashionable two-story head optics is addressed to emerging markets.
Packed in dense camouflage «five-door» Renault, we saw on spy photos last spring. And now, the Dutch online magazine Autoweek has obtained patent images of the model. The publication believes that the pictures show a restyled Sandero Stepway cross-hatch, but not under the Dacia brand, which is represented in Europe, but under the Renault brand (which, in fact, is indicated by the place under the rhombus in front). Well, the Dutch, of course, are right: we have a modernized Sandero. But the Brazilian media, in turn, are sure that in South America and in some other emerging markets this compact will be positioned as a completely new entry-level Renault SUV — with a different name.

Recall that the budget Dacia Logan sedan and the current third generation Dacia Sandero hatch have been in service since 2020. A year later, the new “four-door” also replenished the Renault line, but such a model is still represented only in Turkey, and there it is not Logan already, but Taliant, in addition, the Renault sedan has its own design. But the fresh Renault Sandero hatchback has not yet appeared on sale anywhere. That is, the Brazilian version looks quite authentic.
From the current Dacia Sandero and its “off-road” version of the Stepway, the upcoming premiere of Renault differs in the design of the front end and stern. So, the model of the French brand got a two-story head optics: running lights are located on top, blocks of the main headlights are placed under them. The Renault novelty also received the original grille, bumpers and taillights, and a fin was installed instead of a simple antenna. The interior hasn't been exposed yet.

In Brazil, a new 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine, which traditionally for this country will run on both gasoline and ethanol, is tipped off to the new SUV. In native Romania, the Dacia Sandero Stepway cross-hatch is now offered with a 1.0 TCe petrol “turbo engine” (90 or 110 hp), plus you can choose a 1.0 Eco-G dual-fuel engine (gasoline and propane, 100 hp). Boxes — «mechanics» or variator. Front-wheel drive only.

Apparently, the official the Renault crossover will make its premiere this year.
Meanwhile, before the start of the well-known events, the French brand planned to present a couple of new products in Russia: it was believed that these would be fresh Logan and Sandero, but, again, , it is possible that they would have been given other names. Moreover, both models have already been caught during tests in the Russian Federation, and even through the camouflage it was noticeable that the design of the hatch is almost the same as that of the SUV in the patent pictures. But now new Renaults do not shine for us — the brand has left the Russian market.
