Judging by the spy footage, the headlights of the Korean «four-door» will take on a more traditional shape, but the rear lights will be original.
The first photos of the updated Kia K5 sedan were posted on the Web at the beginning of this year. Since then, test prototypes have been caught more often in Korea, and here is another batch of spy shots: a fresh video appeared on the local Shorts Car YouTube channel. Recall that the “four-door” Kia “a la fastback” has been in service since 2019, it has replaced the Optima model in the global market.

Restyling will bring new headlights to the K5 sedan, and not vertical blocks, as some Korean media had previously predicted, but, on the contrary, a more traditional shape. But it was decided to make the taillights more memorable: instead of a rounded plate with “dotted lines”, there will be “fangs”, while a functional strip between them can still be left. Others will also be the grille and bumpers.

The dimensions of the updated sedan are unknown. The length of the pre-reform model (in Korean specifications) is 4905 mm, width — 1860 mm, height — 1445 mm, wheelbase — 2850 mm.
There are no clear shots of the interior yet. It is likely that a new multimedia system, a virtual instrument panel and a climate control unit will be installed inside.

Not a word about technology yet. The current Kia K5 sedan in the brand’s homeland is available with a 1.6 turbo four (180 hp) and aspirated 2.0 (160 hp) gasoline, you can also buy a “five” with a 2.0 LPI gas engine (146 hp). pp.) and a hybrid installation based on a two-liter engine. In Korea, the “four-door” is exclusively with front-wheel drive, while in the States, for example, it has an all-wheel drive version.

The premiere of the restyled «five» will take place later this year. By the way, in 2023, the related Kia K5 sedan Hyundai Sonata will also be updated, and the Sonata will radically change its image: photos of the Hyundai model without disguise are already walking on the Web.
