MOSCOW, March 6 Sechenov University scientists have developed a flexible biosensor device called a “cardiac patch”, the device will help cardiologists remotely monitor malfunctions in the human heart and quickly prescribe effective treatment, a press release said. service of the university.
«The work on the creation of a «cardiac patch» is being carried out by the world-class scientific center of Sechenov University (NCMU) «Digital Biodesign and Personalized Health Care», which was created to solve breakthrough interdisciplinary problems in medicine. Scientists are doing everything to make modern technologies available today, «says in the message.
The essence of the «cardiac patch» is the continuous removal of the patient's electrocardiogram for 14 days, such technologies can significantly help the cardiologist in making decisions, the press service explained.
The device will analyze the level of physical activity of a person during rest, work, sports, monitor changes in body position in space, movements and even falls. Using a mobile phone, he will transmit data on the work of the heart to the servers, the developers specified.
A cardiologist will be able to connect to the system from any device, analyze the state of the cardiovascular system, compare dynamics, monitor the response to exercise and drugs, adjust the dose of drugs and transfer recommendations to the patient's mobile application, the press service noted.
The «cardiac patch» itself does not cause discomfort, as it is miniature, flexible, wireless and waterproof, the university stressed.
