MOSCOW, 9 Mar. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, at a joint press conference with Israeli counterpart Yoav Galant, said that Russia had entered into «unprecedented defense cooperation» with Iran on missile and air defense.
«In response to Iran's support for Ukraine, Russia offered Iran unprecedented military cooperation, including on missiles and air defense,» the US Secretary of Defense said.
The US leadership has repeatedly accused Tehran of transferring unmanned aerial vehicles to Moscow for use in a special operation in Ukraine.
These accusations were refuted both in Moscow and in Tehran. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that the drones were delivered several months before the special military operation. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov emphasized that domestic equipment with names in Russian is used in Ukraine.
