CHELYABINSK, Mar 14 Chelyabinsk International Airport resumed operation after a temporary closure on Tuesday due to snow and ice, the press service of the Ministry of Roads and transport of the region.
Earlier, Chelyabinsk Airport was closed until 11:00 am (09:00 Moscow time) due to prolonged sleet and ice formation. Due to adverse weather conditions at the airport, seven flights were unable to fly as scheduled, including those to Moscow and Sochi.
«The airport has been opened,» the press service said.
According to the airport's online scoreboard, the flight to Moscow from 06.05 (04.05 Moscow time) was postponed to 17.30 (15.30 Moscow time), morning flights to St. Petersburg are now expected at 18.35 (16.35 Moscow time), and the plane Sochi instead of 06.30 (04.30 Moscow time) took off at 12.43 (10.43 Moscow time).
