Drought kills 10,000 crocodiles in Kenya's Kamnarok lake

About 10,000 crocodiles died in Kenya due to drought on Lake Kamnarok

Order 10 thousand crocodiles died at the Kenyan lake Kamnarok, which barely survived the worst drought in 40 years. This was reported by radio station SABC.

Kamnarok is known as a lake, which was home to the second largest population of crocodiles on the continent, second only to Lake Chad. According to the source, due to the drought, not only crocodiles, but also other animals, including elephants, died. The cause of mass death was not only drought, but also a crack formed in the earth's crust, into which a significant part of the water of Kamnarok drains.

Local residents say that crocodiles often wander into villages to people in search of food. In this regard, the Kenyan authorities have developed a plan for the resettlement of crocodiles in other parts of the country.

Recall that in early March, the Amur tiger was released in the Primorsky Territory, which worried the inhabitants of local villages.

The tiger was caught near the village of Znamenka in the Pozharsky district: the predator roamed the countryside in search of food. Then the tiger tore three local dogs. In total, since 2021, the predator has killed 34 dogs.
