Free body manifesto on stage in Lyon

Silvia Gribaudi — Italian choreographer who breaks stereotypes about art and dance in particular. Since 2004, her attention has been focused on the study of the social interaction of bodies in stage communication between artists and, of course, in the perception of the viewer. The main focus of Silvia's choreographic language is the comic element and the relationship between the performers and the audience.

Silvia Gribaudi, choreographer:“As for the body, stereotypes are being imposed on us, and this is obvious. Each of us then decides how to feel within the framework of the forms of his body. The words perfect, not perfect are always slippery words, in my opinion, precisely because there is an almost unknown zone, a border zone, within which, perhaps, perfection, imperfection is no longer there, but there is simply a form consisting of strength, volume, space. The body also consists of this.

Gribaudi's project evokes a range of feelings. And this is not only admiration and admiration. Sounds like criticism. And some condemn the choreographer. To this, Sylvia says that she treats this with irony.

Sylvia Gribaudi, choreographer:«Perhaps, it was irony, humor that allowed me to distance myself from everything that earlier, being a dancer, somehow could create difficulties for me, a feeling of inadequacy. Humor, a clown lives in inadequacy, in mistakes. There is a huge resource in these mistakes. dance, this resource gave me the spark for a revolution, a real revolution. This revolution begins with transformation through irony, with the ability to freely say what you think, do what you want, laugh with others.

In dance, Silvia Gribaudi is sure that there is a place for everyone, you need to find your master, learn, and discover your uniqueness.

Gribaudi's performances have been presented at national and international festivals. This is the result of a creative process, in the center of which is dialogue and poetic meeting with other artists, dance groups.

The Graces performance was presented at the Lyon Maison de la Dance on 27 and 28 February. This is a project inspired by The Three Graces, a sculpture by Antonio Canova (1812-1817). It challenges traditions dating back to Greek mythology.

The three daughters of Zeus Euphrosyne, Aglaya and Thalia radiated splendor and joy. Here, three male figures enter a stage in space and time, suspended between the human and the abstract: where man and woman meet without roles and dance to the rhythm of nature itself. There are three male performers on stage (Ciro Guglielmi, Matteo Marchesi, Andrea Rampazzo), along with Silvia Gribaudi, who likes to define herself as the «author of the body»: her poetics elevates imperfections into an art form with a direct, brutal and sympathetic comic style that has no boundaries between dance, theater and performing arts.

Over the past ten years, Silvia Gribaudi has been challenging gender stereotypes, female and male identities and the notion of virtuosity in dance and everyday life, going beyond clichés and appearances.< /p>
