The Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation celebrates its 250th anniversary. The collection exhibited in the Dome Cathedral is the oldest and one of the largest in the Baltic countries.
In March, the museum opens an exposition dedicated to restoration and restorers, and by autumn it is preparing a large-scale exhibition about the history of chairs and thrones.
The Barberini Museum in Potsdam hosts the exhibition «The Sun — a Source of Light in Art». The exposition includes more than 130 paintings, sculptures and engravings depicting the luminary, the oldest of which is 2500 years old.
The central exhibit of the exhibition is the painting “Impression. The Rising Sun” by Claude Monet, which gave the name to the entire Impressionist movement.
In Barcelona, there is an exposition at the Joan Miro Foundation. This is one of the most influential representatives of abstractionism and surrealism of the last century. The museum, built in 1975 specifically for this collection, displays several thousand works from different periods of the Catalan artist's work.
