The development will help fight all types of pollution
A device designed for the processing and disposal of plastic polluting the oceans was developed by domestic specialists. Recently, their invention was protected by a patent of the Russian Federation.

According to «MK» one of the inventors of the invention, Shavkat Khasanov, the device will be a catamaran, between the floats of which a device for waste processing will be placed. The inventor explained that the disposal vessel will be able to process three types of plastic waste: polymer products floating on the water surface, dilapidated plastic waste submerged below sea level, as well as the most dangerous water pollutant — crushed to crumbs the remains of plastic, which careless sailors and tourists throw overboard. The fact is that due to the influence of the rather aggressive aquatic environment of the oceans and seas, plastic objects are gradually erased, however, the plastic does not decompose from this, but simply turns into powder, which pollutes the upper layers of the water, depriving the inhabitants of the sea of light, oxygen and in fact poisoning them.
The development of Russian inventors will help fight all types of pollution. What floats on the surface will be picked up by a conveyor belt installed at the front of the processing unit. She, like an escalator, will lift plastic waste on board. And what is at a depth will be sucked in by a special apparatus through corrugated pipes. Further, whole products will go to the grinder, and then — into the heating chamber. Suspension taken from the depth will also be fed there. The water will evaporate and the plastic — warm up to liquid state. In this form, it will be transported to the chamber, where, under the influence of a temperature of 5-7 thousand degrees Celsius, it will decompose into carbon and hydrogen. At such an eco-station, as conceived by the developers, 40-50 people will work on a rotational basis. Additional vehicles will also be required, in particular, a security vessel and unmanned aerial vehicles, which, in contact with satellites, will direct eco-catamarans to accumulations of garbage.
According to the World Bank, The world's population generates more than 2 billion tons of waste every year. And this figure is growing: experts predict that by 2050 the amount of waste will increase by 70 percent. From 1950 to 2018, about 6.3 billion tons of plastics were produced in the world, of which 9% were recycled and 12% were incinerated. At the same time, according to some reports, at least 40% of the plastic produced (about 3 billion tons) ended up in the oceans. Researchers have calculated that at these rates of pollution, by 2050, the oceans could contain more plastic than fish by weight. Entire plastic continents have been formed in the oceans, for example, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (its area is estimated at 1.5-2 the area of France).
