MOSCOW, March 14 The West wants to oust Russia from African markets in order to maintain its monopoly, said the Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Head of the Secretariat of the Partnership Forum Russia-Africa Oleg Ozerov.
«When the West uses political pretexts to curtail cooperation between African countries and Russia, it pursues pragmatic economic goals — this is ousting Russia from African markets or preventing it from entering these markets in order to maintain its monopoly and as a political and economic dominance,» he said during the Russia-Africa International Forum: Cooperation as a Path to Sustainable Development.
Ozerov stressed that Russia offers African countries an equal partnership, and during the second Russia-Africa summit, which will become a system-forming element in relations between Russia and the countries of the continent, a political declaration and a joint action plan will be adopted to ensure this partnership.
The first summit «Russia-Africa» was held in October 2019 in Sochi. The second summit is scheduled for July 2023 in St. Petersburg.
